Our Atwater Village store is part atelier, part working kitchen, and part neighborhood gathering place. A physical expression of the Block Shop world. Come try things on, cook, make, experiment, and discover the beautiful & useful things we design and source ourselves.

Alongside the full Block Shop collection, we stock a rotating mix of things we love: Roucha, Alex Mill, L’Envers, Le Bon Shoppe, Leset, D.S. & Durga, Wax Apple shoes, Saipua soaps, Lindquist bags, custom Italian splatterware and French ceramics, a gorgeous apothecary, and other treasures picked up along the way.

Our calendar includes craft workshops, food pop-ups, book launches, artist events, and collaborations with friends. The store has quickly become an East Side destination and neighborhood gathering place for Angelenos, out-of-town flâneurs, babies, dogs, and all lovers of beauty.

Kintsugi Workshop:

October 10th & 11th

Join us for a rare opportunity to study kintsugi with Ms. Wajima of LITA Inc., visiting Los Angeles from Japan.

Meaning “golden repair,” kintsugi is the centuries-old Japanese art of mending broken ceramics with lacquer and gold. Rather than disguising cracks, the practice illuminates them, giving damaged objects new life while honoring their history. Rooted in the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, kintsugi invites us to find beauty in imperfection and change.

DETAILS

  • Saturday, October 10, 11am and 2:30pm
  • Sessions are 2–2½ hours
  • Light snacks provided
  • Take home a beautiful piece of repaired Kiyomizu-ware & your own Kintsugi kit to continue the fun at home

Each session is limited to just 10 guests. If you’d like to attend with a friend, please purchase both tickets in one order. Workshops are expected to fill quickly.
