Junior Graphic Designer

Block Shop is looking for a highly creative and motivated freelance junior graphic designer to join our talented team! In this junior design role, you'll be instrumental in crafting visually compelling emails and digital marketing materials that capture our brand’s essence and engage our audience effectively. Dive into the world of  joyful pattern-making, ancient textile production, and creative experimentation at Block Shop.

This is a part-time, remote position best suited for a freelance designer, with the option to work in the studio 1-3 days per week. The contract is for 3 months with the possibility to extend. Pay starts at $25/hr. 

Responsibilities

  • Design beautiful, original emails 2-3x per week 
  • Edit and update imagery on website
  • Create eye-catching ads for Pinterest, Meta, Google, and print
  • Develop logos, packaging and other brand materials, carry the project over the finish line including sourcing new vendors and placing production orders
  • Create line sheets and press kits to share with new accounts & press outlets
  • Help organize our ever expanding image library 

Skills

  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite:
    • Adobe Photoshop 
    • Adobe Illustrator 
    • Adobe InDesign 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Mastery in creating custom emails
  • Strong aesthetic sense with a good understanding of color, texture, and pattern design
  • Fast learner with an ability to create original artwork and designs that align with brand identity 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
  • Experience with website design is a plus
  • Degree in Design, Fine Art or related field is a plus
  • 3-5 years of work experience in graphic design
