Sales Representative (Inbound + Outbound) - Independent Contractor

We’re seeking an independently contracted Sales Representative to grow our trade business across the Western US and select international markets. This role is focused on driving revenue with new and existing interior designer clients through a mix of in-person relationship building, outbound prospecting, and thoughtful inbound sales support. This is a commission-centric role with meaningful upside and a clear path to full-time within one year, contingent on results.


Overview

Title: Sales Representative, Trade
Start Date: ASAP
Initial Term: 6-month trial period (extension contingent on performance)
Hours: 20+ hours per week, with opportunity to scale
Location: In-person two days per week at the Block Shop studio
 Compensation: Commission-based


Objective

The primary objective of this role is to significantly grow trade revenue in our wallpaper and fabric categories while increasing Block Shop’s presence in top-tier interior design projects. This includes building long-term relationships with designers, strengthening existing accounts, and expanding our footprint across key markets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive substantial trade revenue growth across California, Washington, Oregon, Canada, and Mexico, with a goal of 100% year-one growth

  • Build and execute an outbound sales strategy targeting interior designers through:

    • Weekly lead generation and outreach

    • In-person presentations and studio meetings

    • Lunch & learns, trade events, and regional travel

  • Manage inbound trade sales, including timely quotes, follow-ups, and client correspondence

  • Build, maintain, and manage a CRM system for the trade program

  • Establish and uphold monthly and annual trade sales goals supported by a clear, actionable strategy

  • Act as a brand evangelist and front-facing ambassador for Block Shop within the design community

  • Collaborate with the Head of Marketing & Strategy on trade-focused email strategy and designer flows

  • Interface with two existing Block Shop showrooms 1–2 times per quarter


Experience & Qualifications

  • Extensive personal network of interior designers and industry decision-makers within the territory

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the interior design, textiles, or related trade industry

  • Proven ability to independently drive sales from prospecting through close

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Strong brand sensibility and confidence representing a design-driven company

  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented

  • Positive, can-do attitude with a genuine enthusiasm for relationship-based sales
