About
Our spirited orchid design takes its cues from a stylized leaf motif in “A Type of Mother Hanna’s Pocket Handkerchief,” by Mother Hanna (1851) created during the Shakers' mid-19th-century Era of Manifestations. The red trim gives the textile an extra punch and beautifully frames the abstracted floral repeat.
Subtle Block Shop motifs appear in the dotted details and intricate linework of the leaves, bringing together two craft traditions separated by centuries, but united by a shared belief in beauty and utility.
